TYM Vision: Three Young Minds, One Mission

The CureReba Foundation for Tribal Health and Development’s journey did not spring forth overnight but was set in motion nearly two decades ago. In the summer of 2006, Dr. Siddharth Biswal—then a zealous undergraduate—ventured into Jungad village in the Gariyaband district of Chhattisgarh to visit his father’s venerable friend, affectionately known as “Mit Bapa”. Nestled within the National Udanti Tiger Reserve and bereft of reliable electricity or mobile connectivity, Jungad lay also in the heart of a Naxalite conflict zone. Over Eighteen days of unbroken engagement, freed from digital distraction, Dr. Biswal witnessed firsthand the scourge of poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, and untreated disease. These stark revelations, viewed through the lens of his nascent medical education, ignited within him an unwavering resolve to serve these marginalized communities.

It was during this sojourn that he encountered Mr. Vijay Kumar Kashyap, a kindred spirit of similar resolve. Though grappling with the same hardships of survival, Kashyap’s aspirations to uplift his people burned brightly. Inspired by Dr. Biswal’s vision, he lent the fledgling CureReba initiative his own insights into agricultural innovation and social enterprise, expanding its remit beyond healthcare to encompass the economic and nutritional sustenance of tribal families.

In due course, the endeavor attracted yet another luminary Dr Sagnika Pradhan: a distinguished academician from Odisha, celebrated for her spirit of transformation and steadfast dedication to social reform. As a catalyst for CureReba’s mission and vision, she contributed invaluable perspectives on education, community engagement, and sustainable development, thereby enriching the foundation’s holistic approach to tribal welfare.

Thus, what today stands as the CureReba Foundation was not conceived in a single moment of inspiration, but rather germinated slowly over years of shared experiences, dreams, and collaboration. It is a seed sown long ago—nurtured by countless voices and unwavering devotion—now at last finding fertile ground in which to flourish and bring hope to India’s tribal heartland.
